Positioned at an expanse of about 37 km from Kozhikode town in Kozhikode district of Gods own Country Kerala in South India, Payyoli is a small village which offers an ideal holiday retreat to the visitors.
Kolavi Palam Beach: Adorned with a beautiful stretch of golden sands and trivial waters, Kolavi Palam Beach receives hordes of Olive Ridley turtles during November to December those come to this beach site to lay eggs. Trikkottur Perumalpuram Temple: Located close to the government school of Payyoli, Trikkottur Perumalpuram Temple is a peaceful temple devoted to Lord Shiva. The temple dates back to the period of the Perumal kings who were Shaivites with the current temple being renovated in 1950’s in Keralite style of architecture. The temple also houses idols of Lord Ganesh, Lord Krishna, Lord Ayyappa and Lord Dakshinamurthi. The annual festival which is celebrated by the temple witnesses large number of devotees and visitors.
Akhalapuzha River which flows nearby this temple is an added attraction.

Kunjali Marakkar Museum: Named after the valorous fighter who was the admiral of the Zamorins fleet, Kunjali Marakkar Museum which is also the old house of Kunjali Marakkar who fought valiantly against the Portuguese houses some ancient antiques including the cannon balls and some other war relics. It is located 5 km away in Kottakkal and is a must visit site while on a tour to Payyoli.
Craft Village of Iringal: Spread over an area of 20 acres of land on the shores of the enchanting Chaliyar River in Iringal about 3 km from Payyoli, Craft Village is a model village set up by the Tourism Department of Kerala to grab the attention of tourists. The village showcases the diverse and varied arts and traditions of Gods own Country crafts including art pieces created with coir, bamboo, sand, coconut shells, screw pine, coconut leaves, fiber and other materials.
One can actually watch the exhibition of craftsmanship which is a great experience.
Best time to Visit: The best time to visit this place is from September to May as the climate remains pleasant in this place during this time of the year.

If you want some budget hotels or more lavish hotels you have to stay the night in Thrissur town where abundant of accommodation options are available for visitors.
